Custom WordPress Blog Design – starting at $500
WordPress custom designs usually vary from project to project. A custom package typically includes the following:
- Header design
- Installation of Genesis framework and your choice of Studiopress child theme (themes from the Community Marketplace extra)
- Personalized color palette matched to your brand
- Your choice of up to 3 fonts from Google Webfonts
- Your choice of layout (1 or 2 sidebars, left or right, excerpts or full posts)
- Matching social media icons
- Custom favicon
- Customized “About Me” sidebar widget
- Facebook like box
- Instagram widget (slideshow or thumbnail grid)
- Subscribe box
- Adsense ad installation (up to 2, standard sizes of 160×600, 300×250, or 728×90 only)
- Archive drop-down & search box
- One week post-installation support to review any questions you have about your design or maintenance (WordPress coaching additional)
- Plugins installed or other customization billed at $30/hr (1/2 hour minimum)
- Self-hosted WordPress blogs only
Project Gallery/Recipe Index/Portfolio Page (Thumbnail Gallery) Installation – $75
If you have a Genesis framework theme and want to add a thumbnail gallery page to it (example), I can install it for you and match it to your current theme!
This usually takes a little bit of setting up once installed, but I’ll do the hard part:
- installing the special widget area in your admin panel
- customizing any code (if necessary) to match the design to your fonts/colors
- installing a special page template
- install first three categories
- provide instructions for how to add the others
It’s pretty easy to then use this setup as examples for you to take over and install the rest on your own from there, but I’m happy to install the other categories for you at your request (hourly rate charges apply for the additional time). Please contact me before purchasing if this is the case or if you want additional customization.
While full designs have a 6-8 week backlog on average, I can often fit these requests in between other projects. Click below to immediately purchase and join my queue (note: these purchases are non-refundable).
Design Installation
Are you a talented graphic designer and know exactly how you want your blog/site to look, but coding makes your head spin? I can help. I will essentially do all of the heavy lifting while you sit back and watch your creation come to life. Absolutely NO design work is done with this option, so prior to providing a quote, I will need the full mockup of your site in PSD format (obviously, the work and time required will vary from site to site). All you have to do is contact me for a quote.
I also partner with designers on web development. If you are a web designer looking for a go-to partner to help bring your designs to life, please contact me and let’s start talking!
Small Business Web Design/Development
Due to my current workload, I only accept one small business web project at a time; please contact me for a quote.
Existing Design Changes
Readers aren’t always crazy about major site changes, and that can leave bloggers stuck in indecision. If you’re happy with your site’s layout and logos, and simply want to make one or two tweaks to the structure or functionality, I charge an hourly rate ($45/hr, one hour minimum). Please contact me with specifics on what you are looking to change, and I will provide an estimate if I think it can be done and how long the work may take.
Note: This option is limited to one or two changes per blog and on the Genesis framework themes only. If you have enough items to start a list, see me about getting a new blog design (if you aren’t sure, it’s ok to ask!). Major structural changes and conversion from any other framework to a Genesis child theme will fall under Custom WordPress Blog Design above.
**All Designs**
Changes to existing graphic designs require approval from the original designer. Please let me know in your email request if this is the case (& provide the designer’s contact info in case I need to ask permission from them for the request).
Timeline
As with most services, the order goes by whoever asked for help first. I currently have a backlog, as do most other blog designers. By paying your deposit, you are essentially buying a slot of time in my queue; when I provide you with a quote, I will also tell you the likely earliest start time of when I can begin your project. “Rush” orders (to squeeze your project’s start time into the current month with my other projects) will incur a rush fee. No guarantees are made with completion dates; dates provided are for when I estimate I can begin your project (see below for the reasoning behind that).
If you fill out the info on my contact page, I am usually very fast at responding. However, a lot of turnaround time depends on you. Communication throughout the process of any of my services is very important; if you are busy, I totally understand – but please also understand that slow responsiveness from you may mean that I work on someone else’s request while I wait for your answer. I will always do my very best to keep you updated and informed along the way, and you can see from a few very happy clients that this is a top priority for me.
Not Offered
Sorry, I do not offer Blogger to WordPress transfer at this time. But if you’re interested in moving to a self-hosted WordPress blog, I recommend reaching out to RFE Hosting to inquire for pricing.
